“…that I might carry out the preaching of the word of God, that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations; but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:25b-27)
The tremendous blessing of Jesus Christ is Himself. It’s not a vague promise nor is it a financial proposition. The blessing of Jesus Christ is the joy of Him being in you! Happy are you when whatever happens to you on account of Him. The Holy Lord is in our midst and even now speaking in the still, small voice saying, “Come, follow Me!” He is with me now, this I know, for His word has become evident. The rough places have been made plain. The crooked paths have been made straight. For some, this is still an untold story, but for you and for me, He has become the mystery of the ages dwelling in all the fullness of the Godhead, He is the Christ in you, the hope of glory.
“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me completely.” (1 Cor. 13:12, NLT)
We cannot pretend to understand His mysteries, particularly all that there is to know of the Kingdom of God. What we know we have been given to know only by His Spirit. He is the gospel revelation and anything that we come to know will be revealed to us in His time and in accordance to our belief and our obedience. He will not reveal beyond your obedience. He will not reveal beyond the holy love within you. Men of all intelligence and educational statuses can attain all knowledge within the book, but the revelation of His Spirit only comes from Him.
He is His Spirit. He is His Holy Love. He is the indwelling One, the Redeemer, the Messiah, and the Prince of Peace. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith and in Him we move and have our being. In Him, there is life and that more abundantly. In Him, there is faith, hope, and love.
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him…we know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, in order that we might know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:13-15, 18-20) Amen.
