78. As You Have Believed

“Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.’ And his servant was healed that same hour.”     (Matthew 8:13, NKJV)

In another passage, when Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say the son of man is?’ (Matthew 16:13, NASB), He wanted the disciples to know what other people said and believed about him. When Jesus asked them who do they, the disciples, say that He is, Peter exclaims, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!” (v.16). Jesus told His disciples that day that flesh and blood had not revealed this to Peter, but that His Father in heaven had revealed it to him.

It really does matter what you believe about Jesus Christ. The centurion saw Him face to face and believed that His divine authority superseded any disease or any other spirit. The centurion understood authority and believed in faith that Jesus had authority over all. He was close enough to have this private conversation with Jesus and trusting enough that divine healing could be accomplished with only a word from Jesus.

Again, it really does matter what you believe about Jesus. Are you going to believe what other men and women say who He is or is not? Are you going to believe a good teaching about Jesus Christ and believe in someone else’s belief that may, or may not be complete, or entirely correct? Jesus wanted to know the obvious; that many people will have their opinions and beliefs, but you, you have to know what you believe about Jesus Christ.

Who is He to you? What do you believe? Just as sure as you are reading this writing, it is certain that it will be done for you as you have believed. Do you know Him personally and do you know that He knows your name? (Luke 10:20)

If you name the Name of Jesus Christ you know that He is Lord over all things, His Holy Spirit will have revealed this to you. Believe that and as a new creation, walk in the power of His Name.

77. The Kingdom of God is Within

“Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, ‘The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed the kingdom of God is within you.”        (Luke 17:20-21, NKJV)

The totality of the word of God, what most would call the Holy Bible, is a finely woven tapestry of time and space, both historical and revelatory of the future. It is the inspired word of our Holy Lord from times past and times to come. It speaks of real experiences that were and real experiences that are yet to come. The old was a foreshadowing of the new and the new is a preview of things that are and are to be. The word of God is carefully spoken, holy inspired, and wholly true.

When Jesus came and preached in the countryside and the cities, He said, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”  (Luke 4:43). Jesus went about preaching the kingdom of God and what He preached, we have written in the four gospels. What He preached was the life of the living in the kingdom of God that required repentance to obtain. “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  (Matthew 4:17b).

The Kingdom of God is not seen because of a building, a steeple, a place to meet, or a place to greet. He said, ’The kingdom of God is within you.’ All of His life was poured into that message of life for now and life forevermore in His coming Kingdom.

Repent – turn from the old, about face, no more to move in the old ways and old thinking. Be made clean and new in Him, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The power of the Holy Spirit comes to convict, to cleanse, and to give new birth to the life in Christ.

When He made you a new creation and you became born again of His Spirit, He led you into life forevermore which begins today. Abundant life is a state of being in Him. He is His kingdom and as we abide in Him, He has promised to abide in us. Get to know Him by His word and obey every saying of His. He is faithful to His word, His words are spirit and they are true. Continue with Him, in His Kingdom, for His Kingdom has come and in His kingdom, His will is done. The still, small voice is speaking, “Follow Me.”
